Information we collect
Trade Connect collects the information needed to run a local services marketplace. This can include account details, provider profile information, service areas, quote request details, reviews, basic usage analytics, and technical session information used to keep accounts signed in.
How we use information
We use this information to display provider listings, help customers contact providers, send quote request notifications, support account access, review listings for trust and safety, and improve the marketplace experience.
Sharing with providers
When a customer submits a lead or quote request, the customer details and message are shared with the selected provider so they can respond directly. By submitting a quote request, the customer agrees that the selected provider may use those contact details to respond about that service request.
Location data
If you choose to use your current location, the app uses it to find nearby providers. Location access is controlled by your browser or device, and you can deny or revoke it at any time.
Cookies, sessions, and analytics
Trade Connect uses essential cookies or similar browser storage to maintain signed-in sessions and protect account access. The platform also records basic usage analytics, such as homepage views, searches, provider profile views, and lead submissions, to improve marketplace performance and usability.
POPIA-aligned privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, users may request access to their personal information, request correction of inaccurate information, ask for deletion where appropriate, or object to certain processing. Trade Connect will review and respond to privacy requests in line with applicable South African law, including POPIA where relevant.
Retention and security
Trade Connect keeps personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the marketplace, manage support and moderation, maintain records of leads and reviews, and meet legal or operational obligations. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect stored information.
